Rankin Arena, Batchewana First Nation, Sault Ste Marie, Ontario
This series of assault prevention workshop was organized by Nimmki-Naabkawagan Family Crisis Shelter on the Batchewana First Nation of Ojibways. It was held at the Rankin arena. The Batchewana territory borders the city of Sault Ste Marie Ontario.
The shelter's programs are based on the Seven Teachings which are common to all people and carry a special gift from the Creator and the Grandfathers: Respect, Love, Honesty, Courage, Humility, Wisdom, and Truth. The goals of the shelter are guided by the Medicine Wheel Teachings of the Four Directions; Spiritual, Emotional, Physical, and Knowledge.
